How many of you know a complainer? You know, someone who just never seems to be happy with anything. I know several, and have several in my family. However, just because we know complainers does not mean that we have to become complainers.
As Christians, we are told that God's will is for us to give thanks in every situation. This is difficult at times. Think about the most difficult time of your life. It seemed difficult to give thanks to God, didn't it? However, as Christians God has given us more to be thankful about than we often think about.
First, those of us who are Christians are adopted as children of God. This is great news! This privilege is not for those who do not know Jesus, but for those who do know Him. This, by itself, is reason enough to be forever thankful to God. However, we have even more to be thankful for.
Second, those of us who are Christians have been granted an opportunity to be free from sin. This is yet another opportunity that has not been granted to the world. Those who do not know God do not know how to be free from sin, since this freedom is granted by the grace of God through the person of Jesus Christ.
Last but not least, those of us who are Christians know the God that made us. The world does not know Him, but we have come to know Him.
Although this list is not all-inclusive (that would take a long time to create), any of the above three reasons would be ample to be forever thankful. Since these things are true, those of us who are Christians have no reason to be unthankful.
