Have you ever taken the time to gaze up at the stars at night? Those of us who have will remember asking the question, "Where did all of this come from?" The Bible tells us that it was the work of one, all-powerful, all-knowing, loving Creator.
When God created the universe, He gave it a grand design. If you take a look at our planets, you will realize that God placed the planet Jupiter's orbit in the perfect place to help deflect projectiles and keep them from hitting earth. This would be bad, since we all live on this planet! However, God knew what He was doing.
The earth is also the perfect distance away from the sun. If we were any closer to the sun, or any farther away from it, the temperature change would be so extreme that it would kill off life on the planet earth.
Our planet's gravitational pull is also perfect. If it were stronger or weaker, life would not exist on our planet. If the gravitational pull of the universe had been any stronger or any weaker right after the "Big Bang", the universe would not exist.
There are literally dozens of pieces that had to fall in place in order for us to even be alive. This is impossible without a Grand Designer. The splendor of the universe goes to show the omnipotence and omniscience of God. It goes further to show that He loves us, since He did not have to design a universe capable of sustaining life. Next time we look up at the stars, we should thank God for the incredible design He has given to the universe. We should look up and remember Him.
